The challenge

A leading administration and technology outsource provider wanted to implement a new UK wealth platform to enhance their existing pension and investment retirement propositions for existing and new clients

We were engaged to lead development and delivery of the new wealth platform

Delivery of this +£100M solution involved a multi-site team of 500 based in 5 countries across 3 continents

The end solution impacted 85 individual systems and required conversion of +100 million records

Our approach

We supported the client through the following activities:

  • Programme and governance restructured with clear lines of responsibilities and reporting
  • Identified, assigned, and resourced / recruited accountable owners for lead roles
  • Defined and established the Design Authority
  • Introduction of a robust Change Control process and traceability matrix
  • Co-location of teams for key requirement gathering phases (flying teams to and from abroad)

The outcome

We supported the client to achieve the following outcomes:

  • Supplier and Client Executive / C-suite representatives aligned
  • Reconfigured programme adopted by stakeholders
  • Greater financial control - tracking individual change requests to the programme budget
  • Clarity of requirements and traceability for latter phases of project life cycle
  • New office constructed and +400 operation team TUPE’d over within 9 months
  • System anglicised and enhanced for new suite of UK retirement products within 18 months
